POLICIES
· The total fee (incl. sales tax) holds a membership. This amount is charged to the member’s credit card at the time of signup.
· Tow-behind activities are prohibited.
· You MUST be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and undergo the mandatory training on operating the boat until you are certified. The member should be experienced and capable in all aspects of the handling and operation of a powerboat. Lessons are available when you do not qualify as experienced. Ask for details.
· A $1,500 security deposit authorization is retained. The member is responsible for all damages that may occur. Gas, pump-out/additives, and other expenses will be charged to the member’s credit card.
· Each member will be responsible for all costs associated with bringing the boat back to the condition it was in at the start of the season. All members will be responsible for fueling the boat and adding outboard oil to the oil tank after each use.
A signed contract (which includes operator’s driver's license number) must be on file before boat departure.
· Boats may leave the Harbor Marina location no earlier than 8 am & must return prior to 6 pm. Boats must stay in Gardiner’s Bay.
CANCELLATION POLICY
· If the boat is made unavailable during another member's use, there are no refunds.
LATE RETURN POLICY
· Renters are charged additional half hours if rental boats are returned after the specified return time.
CAPTAIN/INSTRUCTION– advanced notice required for captain or lesson requests. A 48 hr. cancellation policy applies. Lessons cancelled by the renter less than 48 hr. notice will not be refunded or credited. No exceptions! Your Certified Instructor is an independent sub-contractor hired specifically to instruct you. Please be prompt - the instructor's fee is based on a prescribed time. If you are late, you pay for the time the instructor waits for you.
OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· All boats MUST be checked in and checked out. The operator MUST be present at both check-in & check-out. During return check-in, the operator is required to remain at the marina until it is completely inspected.
· The person signing the agreement MUST be the one operating the boat or rental equipment, as this person is the one held responsible for ALL damages to the rental boat and its contents.
· Any damage done due to customer negligence, for example: ripped or stained upholstery, damaged gelcoat, missing equipment, broken hatches, improper dockage, etc. is the customer's sole responsibility to pay for. The renter will be held responsible for all damages that occur. A $1500 security deposit will be held until the damages are assessed and a repair estimate is generated. Additional fees for repair costs may result. Please treat the equipment with respect.
- A $100 cleaning fee will be assessed is the boat is returned dirty - please pick up/cleanup after yourself, especially when fishing and eating.
· The operator must report any malfunction, breakdown, or accident of the craft to Seacoast Marine Holdings, LLC immediately.
· Location of a boat docked or moored off premise must be on file. When mooring, the minimum size mushroom mooring required to be used is 150 lbs.
· NO dusk to dawn navigation.
· ANIMALS (dogs, etc) are allowed on boats only with permission.
· Boats must stay within the waters surrounding Gardiner’s Bay. Operators are required to undergo familiarization with a trained captain to ensure they understand the location of all hazards to navigation in Gardiner’s Bay and surrounding areas and are required to complete Mandatory Safety Training.
· ALL New York State BWI & DWI rules apply. The use of alcohol and/or narcotics is not permitted.
· Each member is responsible for the cost of gas & oil they use, plus additives, and any damage.
· Prop Damage Fees: (plus tax) If the propeller is bent, dinged, or otherwise damaged, the operator is responsible for the replacement or repair cost, including labor and haul-out expenses.
